Categories of Membership:

Patron Members:

A company or an institution or any other legal entity engaged in the field of activity as related to the scope and purpose of the society shall be eligible to become Patron Member of the society. Patron Membership shall be as a right subjected to the other provisions of these Rules and Regulations relating to Expulsion etc.

Patron Members enjoy some special membership privileges which is exclusive only to this category of membership.

Corporate Members:

A company or an institution or any other legal entity engaged in the field of activity as related to the scope and purpose of the society shall be eligible to become corporate Member of the society. Corporate Membership shall be as a right subjected to the other provisions of these Rules and Regulations relating to Expulsion etc.

Startup, Professional, Academia & Research Organisation:

Startup, Professional Academia & Research Organisation Membership is by invitation only.

A company or an institution or any other legal entity engaged in the field of activity as related to the scope and purpose of the society shall be eligible to become an Startup, Professional Academia & Research Organisation Member.

This category has no voting right.

Honorary Member:

Honorary Membership is by invitation/recommendation from the Executive Council, for those Individuals who are engaged in the field and activities as related to the scope and purpose of the society shall be eligible to become an Honorary Member.

This category is restricted and has no voting right.

Membership Benefits and other Privileges

Following benefits and privileges, inter alia, are available to Members of Broadband India Forum (IPTV Society):

  1. Attend Membership and General Body Meetings;
  2. Eligible to be nominated for election to the Executive Council:
    • The EC proposes creation of new benefits and programs at the General Body Meeting
    • The EC establishes and guides Forum’s policies and priorities;
  3. Eligible to vote on important issues and matters related to the Forum’s bye-laws, elections, etc.;
  4. Participate in any of the BIF Working Groups, Committees etc. and give expert opinion on all the subjects related to ICT, Broadband, Satellite, Radio Communications, Spectrum, Telecommunication , research & development and standardization etc. ;
  5. Access to information related to the Forum and other telecom journals where members can also contribute;
  6. Attend free or at discounted rates, the seminars, conferences and workshops organized by the Forum and the third party events supported by the Forum;

Patron Members are eligible for the following special privileges over and above the general membership benefits:

  1. Be a Member of the Strategic Advisory Council for proposing guiding policies for the Forum for consideration in consonance with the ethos of the Forum;
  2. Automatically get prominent visibility on the Forum’s website;
  3. Prominent positioning of the Member company’s logo at all the events organised by the Forum;
  4. Preference for being nominated as the Chairman/Co-Chairman of the various BIF Hi-Level Committees;
  5. Preference in adapting Research Projects and Study proposals in relation to the Consumer Awareness Program (CAP).
